Álvarez, who was Miss Colombia in 2011, later devoted herself to modeling and animation. For a few months, her health condition caused concern and on May 18 it was learned that Álvarez underwent three emergency surgeries due to an abnormal mass in her abdomen, according to the Colombian newspaper.

The exreina disclosed the details of the procedure through a video on her Instagram account.

“Until today, almost a month after all my operations, I have the courage to be able to speak to them,” Álvarez said in his video, referring to his followers and those who have been aware of his health, to whom he thanked them very much.

Álvarez began recounting his struggle by referring to the “presumably simple” operation he underwent to extract an abnormal mass in his abdomen that, he said, “was the size of a 200 (Colombian) peso coin.”

However, he said, doctors noted that the mass was very close to his aortic artery.

This was what led to a second and third surgical procedure. “And although the aorta was very good, it caused me an ischemia,” which is a kind of obstruction of blood flow.

“Thank God my legs are fine, but my feet were badly affected. Especially my left foot, ”she continued. I had a fourth surgery (…) but, finally, enough blood could never get to my foot, ”he said in his video on Friday.

“Because of this, tomorrow (Saturday June 13) I will have a new operation in which they will have to remove my left foot,” said the exreina.

“I could have my foot, but it would not be a functional foot (…) as a family we talked and I made the decision,” said the exreina, clarifying that, with the prosthesis after the amputation, she will be able to “dance bachata, run and ride a bicycle”; activities that you like and for which you require the use of the lower extremities fully.

“The miracle is my life (…) I can be here telling you my story (…). Thank God and the Virgin, thank you, because they give me all the courage and optimism ”, she concluded.

Daniella Álvarez’s fight has been recorded by the entertainment media after she underwent all three surgeries in 24 hours. Days later, her brother, Ricki Álvarez, published a photograph of the ex-queen after the harsh procedures, El Tiempo reported.

“I love you! My happiness! No one imagines the fight you are having and, regardless, this is the face that gives me. Beautiful and radiant, anyway… she! ”, He wrote at the time.
