Two activists from the ultra-right movement who called for “violent actions” were arrested Tuesday by the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), one in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) and the other in Gironde, then placed in police custody.
According to La Dépêche du Midi, the suspect arrested in Montauban is a 46-year-old town hall official. He suspected of calling for violence of an anti-Semitic and racist nature via the encrypted Telegram messaging system.
“Several dozen weapons of all kinds, as well as material used in the composition of explosives” were discovered during searches.
