TAP will carry out a return flight to Lisbon on Wednesday morning, according to information from the Portuguese consulate in Luanda, which recommends interested parties to contact the airline.
The information was conveyed in an email addressed to one of the Portuguese who signed up asking for support to return to Portugal, after Angola closed its borders to the circulation of people on March 20, to try to prevent the entry of imported cases from covid-19 .
In the email, to which Lusa had access, the consulate informs that TAP will fly to Portugal on Wednesday morning, and “other air transport possibilities are also being studied”.
Several Portuguese citizens managed to return to Portugal after the borders were closed, through special flights by the Angolan carrier TAAG and charter flights to EuroAtlantic.
Angola announced the first two cases of infection with the new coronavirus responsible for covid-19, on Saturday, after the border suspension took effect, which will last at least 15 days.
