EXCLUSIVE SURVEY Coronavirus: French people very worried about their health and the economy

France is afraid. And in unequivocal proportions. In the new OpinionWay-Square barometer for “Les Echos”, CoviDirect, which should allow daily monitoring of the state of opinion during the coronavirus crisis, 82% of French people are “worried” about themselves or their loved ones, when only 17% are not. Called to rate their level of worry on a scale of 0 to 10, the respondents place it on average at 7.3.

The first time that the OpinionWay institute asked this same question, during a debate on France 2, at the beginning of the month, this figure was 5.5, with 10% of French people “very worried”. On the day of the first round of municipal elections, March 15, it was at 6.6, with 18% of “very worried”. Today, 29% say they are “very worried”. A very strong increase which is obviously explained by the implementation of containment measures and the spread of the pandemic in France.
