Taliban troops killed two women. The incident happened when the troops Taliban conducted house searches in the Helmand area.
According to reports from the AFP, on Tuesday (9/20/2022), the Taliban regularly conduct security checks throughout the country. Troops Taliban going from house to house in search of weapons, criminals and rebels believed to be against the Taliban regime.
The shooting of the two women took place on Sunday (18/9) local time. So, a group of warriors Taliban they ransacked their home in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand.

“During the operation, the Taliban forces fired their rifles into the air and wounded a woman,” said local cleric Wali Jan.
Two other women and a male relative decided to take the injured woman to the hospital. The Taliban then shot the two women because they thought they were trying to escape.
“Seeing them leave, the Taliban thought they were running away with guns and opened fire on their car,” said Wali Jan.
The head of Helmand’s information and culture department, Hafiz Rashid, confirmed the incident. He called the two martyred women during the clean-up operation.
“Two women were martyred during a clean-up operation in the Bost Kala area of Lashkar Gah,” Rashid said.
In recent days, the Taliban have intensified road patrols in Helmand and Kandahar. They have set up temporary checkpoints at major crossroads in Kandahar, where they search for random vehicles or check the identities of the people inside.
One woman said Taliban forces searched the entire room down to the women’s wardrobe. After conducting a search, the Taliban troops then left the place.
“They even searched women’s wardrobes and clothes. What kind of searches are these? This is wrong,” said a woman from Kandahar whose home was ransacked Tuesday by a group of male-only Taliban fighters.
“They spread it all out and left,” he said without naming names.
The Taliban is known to have imposed severe restrictions on Afghan women. They excluded girls from secondary school and women from many government jobs.
