Talent in the family! The most famous sibling bands

They are probably the most famous and well-known family bands and sibling singing duos. Looking at them, it is clear that here genetics it worked out the way it was supposed to, and musical talent runs really often and in large quantities in these families.

The Kelly Family

In the 90s, it was an absolute phenomenon. Barbara and Daniel Kelly raised a total of twelve children, and exactly nine of them formed a famous band at the time of its greatest fame, i.e. in the nineties The Kelly Family. The family, which never had much money and lived a somewhat nomadic life, did the incredible: they came up with songs that became worldwide hits. At least An Angel or I Can’t Help Myself are songs that many people in their 40s still remember vividly.

Bee Gees

Brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb formed the legendary band Bee Gees. They have been playing together since the late 1950s and peaked in the 1970s. From their famous hits (eg Stayin’ AliveNight Fever or How Deep Is Your Love) also created a legendary musical Saturday night Fever. But Maurice died suddenly in January 2003 and that was the end of playing together. In May 2012, he also died Robincolon cancer killed him. Barry himself then in 2013 he went on a tour in honor of his brothers and with that the Bee Gees era ended for good.

The Jackson 5

This band is often unfairly forgotten – one of its members became the king of pop. Michael Jackson is on the lower leftPhoto: Profimedia.cz

The Jackson family was very musical. Out of a total of nine children, five brothers (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael) formed the very successful band The Jackson 5, with which their sister sometimes also performed Janet Jackson. They played most in the 1960s and 1980s, although since 1985 without Michael Jackson. He became independent and devoted himself to a solo career. And it’s true that his music overshadowed the Jackson 5, but it’s basically impossible to compare with the King of Pop.

Brothers Nedved, that’s a concept in the folk world. They managed to sell out the Strahov stadium and their songs have been humming around the campfire for several generations. These two have been singing and acting together forever. They started out in the big beat band Five Dogs, then moved on to tramp songs. They founded the group Toronto, which later became the successful Brontosaurs. They also performed with the group Spiritual quintet. At the end of the 1980s, Jan started giving concerts alone, and in the beginning of the 1990s, he teamed up with František again and a legendary duo was formed. And although their cooperation was also marked by quarrels and they broke up several times, they always reconciled again and found a way to each other. Only death separated them when František succumbed to lung cancer in the summer of 2021.

The Corrs

In the Corrs family, all four siblings inherited musical talent: Jim, Andrea, Caroline and SharonPhoto: Profimedia.cz

Three sisters and one brother, that’s the famous band The Corrs. And the name? That’s nothing but their last name. Jim, Sharon, Caroline and Andrea started playing together in 1990 and reached their peak at the turn of the century. Their folk rock has found many fans, you probably also know hits such as Breathless, Runaway, Angel or Dreams. They released their last album Jupiter Calling in 2017 and have a tour of Australia and New Zealand planned for October and November of this year.
