Leisure – Frankfurt am Main – The longing was great: dance floors are free again – society

Mainz (dpa/lhe) – After more than two months of the compulsory Corona break, thousands of Frankfurters have returned to the dance floors of clubs and discos. “The longing was great,” said Victor Oswalt from the Network Clubs am Main on Saturday, in which 15 clubs have joined forces. “You could tell that something important was missing for a very long time.” The restriction to 60 percent of indoor capacity has disappointed some who could not get more space.

“Everyone was aware that it was the first evening,” said Mario Morshäuser, manager of the Mega Discostadl in Alt-Sachsenhausen. For the first time since the closure on December 28th, the dance floor was free again on Friday evening. About 1,200 people were there from the evening until early morning – most of them between the ages of 20 and 30, but all age groups were represented. The 2G plus certificates were checked at the entrance, but afterwards the old club feeling without a mask was possible again. “We’re in good spirits and hope there won’t be another surprise in the fall,” said the club manager.

And are there any new music trends emerging? “There are always new songs coming out,” Morshäuser replied. “But new trends are not formed at home, but on the dance floor.”
