Long holidays at the end of June have affected blood stocks, the National Blood Donor Center (VADC) is asking donors to remember the need to donate blood during the summer months as well. Currently, donors of O–, O +, A–, A + blood groups are very welcome, reports VADC.
In July, VADC will go on 41 trips. They are planned in Vilani, Kauguri, Olaine, Jekabpils, Carnikava, Ogre, Varkava, Auce, Madona, Iecava, Sigulda, Biķernieki, Dzērbene, Bauska, Gulbene, Koknese, Līvāni, Dundaga, Alūksne, Vilaka, Broce. Most trips will take place in the capital.
To donate blood, you must bring an identity document – a passport or eID card. In order to save time, the donor’s application and questionnaire can be filled in in advance – in electronic format.
The latest information on blood donations, safety measures, trips and opening hours is available on the VADC website www.donors.lv and by toll-free number 80000003 (weekdays from 08.30 to 17.00).
