The Superintendence of Banks (SIB) reminds that banks, branches and banking agencies will remain closed starting this Friday, December 29 at noon.

“Banks, branches and banking agencies can close on December 29, half a day in the afternoon, holiday at the end of the financial year. As well as Monday, January 1, corresponding to the New Year’s holiday.”

Said permit was authorized through the Monetary Board, which is also aimed at financial companies, insurance companies, storage companies, exchange houses and microfinance companies.

In this sense, the SIB points out that it is aware that it is at the discretion of each entity to provide its services through an agency, special window or similar.

The authorities indicated that citizens will be able to consult the list of banking agencies that will provide special service during the holiday, at www.sib.gob.gt.
