For the first time in its modern history, the Swedish army will be used within state borders. The Prime Minister of the country, Ulf Kristerson is planning to use in addition to the police and armed forces units against the ethnic gangs.
In September alone, bandits killed 11 people in the country’s major cities. This week, two people were shot dead in Stockholm and a young woman was blown up in Uppsala.
“We will look for the gangs and defeat them,” the Prime Minister assured. According to him, what is happening now is the result of “Irresponsible immigration policy and failed integration”. About 20% of Sweden’s 10.5 million inhabitants were born abroad.
Even members of the largest opposition party in the country – the Social Democratic Party – are calling for decisive action. “This is not Sweden, it is not what Sweden should have been,” said Social Democrat leader Magdalena Andersson.
Swedish authorities intend to pass new laws under which any migrant linked to a crime can be deported home.
Many new Swedes are law-abiding, but some of them live in ethnic ghettos that have become areas of lawlessness. There are about 60 such places that are “impossible to visit” by ordinary Swedes. According to the Swedish police, up to 30,000 people are members of ethnically organized criminal groups throughout the country – not only in the capital and large commercial and industrial centers, but even in small townswhose residents in the past had almost no contact with crime.
Organized crime groups deal in drugs, weapons, racketeering, gambling and prostitution. Such groups wage gang wars with automatic weapons and explosives, and their members are always ready to engage in mass disorder.
