Swatch has presented a special edition of watches in collaboration with the MoMA in New York. He has called it “From our collection to yours” and includes six new models that come to expand the “Museum Jorney” series. All six are inspired by works by great artists that are part of the New York museum collection. Three of them are available in 41 millimeter diameter sizes. They are “The Starry Night” (1889) by Vincent van Gogh; “El Sueo” (1910), by Henri Rousseau and “The City and Design, The Wonders of Life on Earth, Isamu Kurita” (1966), by Tadanori Yokoo. These pieces, the size of Swatch’s New Gent model, cost 95 euros. Thinking of somewhat smaller dolls, there are three pieces 38 millimeters in diameter. They are the models “Esperanza, II” (1907-1908) by Gustav Klimt; “Composition In Oval with Color Planes 1” (1914), by Piet Mondrian; and “New York” (1968) by Tadanori Yokoo. All three designs have the same price, 75 euros. They can be purchased separately although they have also created a pack with all of them with collectors in mind. Of course, there will only be 221 units and it will cost 650 euros. “From our collection to yours” will be available from March 4 in Swatch stores around the world, on the swatch.com website, in MoMA stores and at store.moma.org More information about the collection, here.
