Two swapped babies in Bogor Regency, West Java, have been officially handed over to their respective biological parents. This handover has been carried out through a number of processes and stages.
“Thank God, friends, that today we have finished handing over the swapped babies which have been very viral news. As the Bogor Police Chief, I would like to thank you for your support and guidance together with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, KPAI, in resolving this problem,” said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro to journalists, Friday (29/9/2023).
Separately, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati said that what the police had done was in accordance with the Child Protection Law.
“The agreement was made between these two great women, these tough mothers, so that today we can carry out the process of social reintegration. Of course, this social reintegration cannot be separated from being very much in line with Article 7 of the Child Protection Law that every child must know their parents “Every child must be cared for and raised by their own parents,” said Gusti.
He hopes that handing over the baby will provide benefits to all parties. Then it can be a lesson for all parties.
“Today’s process, today’s incident, hopefully will be a lesson for all of us, for hospitals, for maternity homes, to maintain caution, so that cases like what happened in Bogor Regency do not occur,” he said.
The case of swapped babies in Bogor has attracted attention. The two babies who were swapped have now begun to be raised by their respective biological parents. The handover of the swapped baby to the biological parents was held at the Bogor Police Station today.
The case of the swapped babies has been completely resolved by the Bogor Police after the results of the cross-linked DNA test stated that the babies were definitely swapped. On the other hand, the issue of criminal allegations related to the swapping of the babies is still being investigated by the police.
