This censorship, while nothing new, is assuming unprecedented proportions and forms. Threatened librarians, liberticidal laws voted against “obscene works”, individuals who arrive armed at school meetings or read aloud passages from a novel deemed “pornographic”. In this context, more and more librarians and teachers are resigning, as described in a report published by the Le Pen Club USA, the famous association that promotes freedom of expression and defends the rights of writers.
