Chase on the A5.
(BZ). A man who apparently gave the police a chase on the A5 and fled has made himself known. After a police check attempt, a driver fled near Neuchâtel last Wednesday. Federal officers later caught up with him on the freeway. However, the driver ignored the instructions. After one of the officers stood in front of the car, the man drove towards him and continued his escape. The police then fired warning shots – but the man didn’t stop his black Mercedes. Finally, the vehicle was discovered abandoned in the Grieheim district of Neuchâtel.
In the meantime, a lawyer has contacted the public prosecutor’s office in Freiburg and informed them that they are representing the wanted driver of the vehicle. The driver is a 30-year-old man of Polish nationality, police said. The investigations into the background of the crime are still ongoing.
