Suspect Shoots Queens Grocer with Rifle – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK — There was a moment of terror for a Queens deli storekeeper when a suspected gunman entered the store Wednesday and shot him multiple times with a pistol, then returned with a rifle.

The events began at around 2:30 p.m. in the warehouse located in the deli on 114-02 de Rockaway Boulevard in queens. The suspect entered the store masked and fired approximately three times at the 47-year-old clerk. He then returned with a rifle and fired about five times, authorities added.

The video shows the chilling moments, a fact in which the victim is miraculously alive. She was hit in the eye and is recovering at the hospital.

“He went straight to the counter and shot him,” said the victim’s nephew, Mehanad Kaid.

Police announced Thursday that a 35-year-old man was arrested on charges including attempted murder and possession of a firearm.
