Authorities are looking for a man for questioning in connection to a violent sexual assault and robbery against a woman who was jogging over the weekend in Manhattan, New York City Police said.
According to the uniformed officer, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 27, at about 6:10 am, when the victim, a 39-year-old woman, was jogging in the area of Clarkson Street and West street(Pier 40), and a suspect on a bicycle approached.
At that point, police said, the suspected attacker pushed the victim to the ground and began to strangle her. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her and snatched her cell phone from her before fleeing on her bicycle.
Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital with pain and bruising.
New York City Police describe the suspect as a bearded male, approximately 5′ 9″ and 180 lbs., dark complexion, 20-30 years of age, last seen wearing dark clothing.
