Suspect attacks two nurses and a doctor at Newark hospital with a sharp instrument

The attack occurred at around 7:09 am in the Newark Beth Israel Hospitalwhich remains at 201 Lyons AvenueFragé said, when the suspect, who was visiting a patient in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, had an altercation with the victims and attacked them with the cutting instrument, according to the police report.

All three victims suffered lacerations and are in stable condition.

The suspect was detained and later identified as Firdousi Abdul-Hakim, 37, and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
