Former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti also attended the wedding celebration of Kaesang Pangarep and Erina Gudono at Mangkunegaran Temple, Solo, Central Java on Sunday (12/11/2022). Kebaya designed by Anne Avantie became Susi’s mainstay for this special moment.
Having received the invitation to the afternoon session, Susi Pudjiastuti had been preparing since the morning. Wolipop had the opportunity to witness the final preparations at the invitation of Mother Anne, the designer’s nickname.
When Anne Avantie arrived at the hotel where Susi was staying at around 09:30 WIB, the 57-year-old woman was putting on her face and hair.
“How are you?” Susie asked. “Shit, the bun is a little crooked,” Anne commented before helping her fix Susi’s bun.
After the wedding was over, Susi Pudjiastuti went directly to another room to change. After 15 minutes, you came out wearing a kebaya the color Anne calls “hot pink”.
“Incidentally, Ms. Susi has a favorite earring. I fixed (the color),” said the 67-year-old designer of the color inspiration for her kebaya.
The earrings in question were flower-shaped statement earrings with diamond details that matched her style at the time.
It didn’t take Anne weeks or months to prepare this kebaya. The manufacturing process takes just two days. Susi’s 17 years of appearance management experience is enough for Anne to understand the size and fashion sense of this woman known for her fashion-forward her style.
“So, the traditional concept actually can’t be fully applied to Ms. Susi. You have to use special tricks. Ms. Susi is the kind of dress that needs to be like her. Elegant, but Susi is really free with her character,” she explained the designer dating celebrities and ministers that.
Especially for the kebaya that Susi wore for Kaesang and Erina’s wedding, Anne Avantie was inspired by Kutubaru’s kebaya with references to the Solo palace, made of velvet and golden Prada hems.
“I applied velvet to show the sacredness that this event was held in Mangkunegaran,” Anne said.
Susi’s style is more complete with gold heels and a blue scarf that gives a modern color block touch. Don’t miss the sunglasses which are one of Susi’s signature styles.
So, what’s Susi’s response to her looks this time around?
“The ugly duckling becomes beautiful” joked Susi. “Women when they feel beautiful, they are very happy,” she added.
After getting ready, Susi left for the event venue Tasyakuran Kaesang and Erina Gudono at Mangkunegaran Temple by bus from Sunan Hotel at 10.30 WIB. But first, she gave prayers and hope for the newly weds. “Congratulations on Kaesang and Erina’s marriage, I hope you will always be happy, get along well and…have devoted children. Pak Jokowi will definitely be happy with new grandchildren,” Susi said.
