Susanne Kunz already has isolated well-known excursions into the acting field: in 2018 she was seen as the bum Gigi in a series of the seventh season of the SRF hit series “Der Bestatter”.
Today’s «1 against 100» annual review (SRF 1, 8.10 p.m.), led for the first time by Angélique Beldner (43), concludes a TV chapter that lasts over 20 years. Because long-term moderator Susanne Kunz (41) will focus fully on her acting career in the future. “Dare to do anything is dangerous,” she explains, “I would have become sluggish, change is good and important.” The theater has always been in her focus. “But life would have been more difficult earlier,” says the mother of two.

Her next phase of life away from the big TV stage begins immediately. From January 17, she can be seen in the comedy “The Wonder Exercise” by best-selling author Daniel Glattauer (59) at the Turbine Theater in Langnau am Albis ZH. And in summer 2020 on the open-air stage in Sihlwald in “The Murder Night of Zurich”. In addition, she found an acting agency in Berlin to be present in the entire German-speaking area. When all else fails, Kunz has an additional mainstay – she has been a trained Pilates trainer since 2017.

From youth magazine to quiz master
The native of Zeeland was always known for brave decisions. In 1997 she dropped out of high school in Biel BE and started her SRF career at what was then the youth magazine “Oops!”. From 2000 on, she moderated her own quiz show with “Eiger, Mönch & Kunz”. In 2005, she took a short screen break to train as an actress in Berlin and Paris. In 2006 and 2007 she led through the renovation program “Tapetenwechsel”, followed in 2008 by “1 gegen 100”. In the SRF entertainment show “May I ask?” She surprised with her dancing skills.

“It was not only great to be up here, it was also a human adventure in the background with lots of wonderful experiences,” says Kunz. “I don’t go because I no longer have fun, but because you sometimes have to move on.”
