Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno assessed the Ketum’s face NasDem Surya Palo smiling after meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) a while ago at the Palace. Adi talked about the NasDem maneuvers which started to look horrified.
At first, Adi talked about the backstage fights between politicians over Anies Baswedan’s candidacy. He said the Democrats knew that Anies could not advance to become a presidential candidate without the support of the party bearing the Mercy logo.
“The Democrats know for sure that Anies will not be able to move forward without the Democratic Party, Anies will have no use for electability to the eighth and seventh heavens if there is no Democratic Party, these are actually backstage fights that are being covered up by these politicians. That’s why I always say you can get 20%, you can make a declaration, you can. PKS and the Democrats have agreed, but what’s next?” said Adi in the Adu Perspective discussion as broadcast detikcomWednesday (1/2/2023).
Adi said that the NasDem maneuvers after meeting Jokowi were horrified. He said that Surya Paloh’s face was smiling and continued to declare himself to remain solid as part of Jokowi’s axis of change.
“If it’s true that before Ramadan, the three parties declared that they both declared Anies as a presidential candidate, that’s solid. It only remains to have political faith until October or not. Because the recent NasDem maneuvers were horrifying, after meeting Jokowi, after meeting Airlangga Hartarto, their faces “NasDem is so excited to continue to declare itself as part of istiqomah, consistent and solid, to be part of Jokowi’s axis of change,” he said.
Adi believes that it is not impossible for NasDem to leave PKS and Democrats if they are still selling at a high price. The meeting between Jokowi and Surya Paloh was seen as political intimidation for the Democrats and PKS, so they quickly declared their support for Anies.
“That will become political intimidation for the Democrats and PKS if they don’t rush to declare their political support for Anies Baswedan. It is not impossible that the NasDem will leave the Democrats and PKS if they continue to sell high prices,” he added.
