Survey: the population’s confidence in the ability to determine their own life has slightly decreased – in Latvia

This year, people’s confidence in their ability to determine their own lives has slightly decreased, according to a survey conducted by the research agency SKDS.

In July this year, residents were asked to rate the extent to which they feel in control of their lives. It is proposed to evaluate this condition on a ten-point scale. This year, residents have assessed their opportunities to determine their own lives with a total of 7.25 points.

During the year, the average rating fell by 0.14 points, reaching the lowest level in the last six years.

The lowest indicator was recorded in 2006, when the residents assessed the ability to determine their own life with an average of 6.69 points. The highest indicator was observed in 2018, when the average rating reached 7.47 points.
