Sergio Ramos (34) is said to have rejected a contract offer from Real Madrid according to Spanish media reports and now wants to listen to offers from other clubs. Ramos’ contract with Los Blancos expires in the summer, as does Lionel Messi’s contract with FC Barcelona. Will you be playing together at PSG next season?
Like the Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol from the radio station The beam berichtet, Real is said to have offered captain Ramos a new two-year contract, albeit at slightly reduced salaries. He is currently expected to earn around 15 million euros a year at Real.
Apparently a no-go for Ramos: Shortly before the game against Elche last Wednesday (1: 1), he is said to have spoken to President Florentino Perez in the cabin. “Sergio said to Florentino: ‘I decline your offer … and from now on I will listen to offers from other clubs,'” said Pedrerol. Players whose contracts expire will be able to negotiate with other clubs from January.
Ramos is also said to have threatened Perez with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to Pederol: “Somebody from PSG told me that with Messi and me they would build a great team.” Perez reportedly replied: “If you get a good offer, we understand.” Real coach Zinedine Zidane recently urged publicly to extend the contract with Ramos.
Messi’s contract with Barcelona also expires in the summer, as the Argentine wanted to leave Barca last summer. Could both end up at PSG? Manchester City and his former coach Pep Guardiola are the favorites to sign Messi. Negotiations with Kevin De Bruyne about a contract extension are supposed to be stalled there – possibly also because City wants to save in order to raise Messi’s enormous salary.
