I understand people who feel offended. Then you are always very quick, very emotional for your own club. But these rules are also part of the footballbusiness.

After Silvan Hefti’s picture book career so far, I think it’s super understandable that he wants to take the next step. And when you look at the dominance of YB over the past few years, that’s definitely a next step. That’s nothing against FC St. Gallen. But you have to understand Silvan. For him, that’s a step into the next category. I think it’s very intelligent career planning that Silvan made with his environment.

If he had switched to a club with a lower ranking now, I would probably have understood less. Then I would have advised him to stay with this young team.

Basically; If a young player plays 100 Super League games in the same club within three or four years, then he can and should move on. It is also an award for FC St. Gallen. And the Super League is a training league, so if the training bears fruit, you can’t let the player go.
