Today’s Monday’s early games are all about the positioning battle in the Western Conference. It starts today at 8:30 p.m. German time with the duel between the Phoenix Suns and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Suns with the current brand new Devin Booker are still hoping for eighth place in the west and thus the last playoff rank. The first five games since the restart of the NBA season at Disney World Orlando were all won by the Suns – will this series also continue against OKC?

For the Thunder it is still about the best possible starting position for the postseason. The Thunder are currently in fifth place in the West with 43 wins and 26 losses, but even third place (Denver Nuggets, 46-24) is still within reach.

Ideally, however, the Utah Jazz (43-27) also want to have a say. The men from the Mormon state are currently in sixth place and could with a win against the Mavs (live from 9 p.m. on DAZN) but move closer to the competition.

Dallas (42-30), on the other hand, wants to shorten the gap to Jazz in order to avoid an impending first-round match with the LA Clippers. The strong performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, when Luka Doncic led the Mavs to victory against the best team in the NBA with an outstanding performance gave hope. The Slovenian, however, is against the jazz.

Speaking of Bucks: The leader of the league has to play against the East runner-up Toronto Raptors at 0.30 a.m. – the top game of the Eastern Conference. Then the Miami Heat will also meet the Indiana Pacers (2 o’clock), where TJ Warren and Jimmy Butler could possibly go up again. The Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets (3 a.m.) will end the long NBA night.
