Sunda Wiwitan Community Asks Actors Sealing Ancestral Eating Acted Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Coalition Supporting Our Ancestors’ Customs (Akur) strongly condemns sealing will tomb elder of the Akur community Sunda Wiwitan.

This attitude was expressed through coalition representatives who are also the Director of the Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP) Franky Tampubolon, in an online press conference on Tuesday (7/28/2020).

“Strongly condemning the sealing of pesuran elders of the Akur Sunda Wiwitan community on privately owned land in Curug Goong, Cisantana Village, Cigugur, by Satpol PP Kuningan Regency,” said Franky.

Franky said the sealing was unconstitutional and violated human rights.

Therefore, the coalition continued, demanding the central government in this case President Joko Widodo, Director General of Culture Ministry of Education and Culture Himar Farid, and Home Minister Tito Karnavian to take firm action on the sealing.

“Demanding the central government in this case President Joko Widodo, Director General of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture Himar Farid, and Interior Minister Tito Karnavian take firm action against the unconstitutional sealing of the Kuningan Regency Government,” he said.

Frangky also asked the Kuningan regent Acep Purnama to order his staff to immediately unseal the building of the tomb.

As well as asking for the responsibility of Acep Purnama to facilitate and provide guarantees for the protection of religious rights and freedom including the construction of graves.

“Inviting the Kuningan community to jointly create a harmonious life with mutual respect for every citizen who believes in and lives a religion or belief with various forms of peaceful expression,” he said.

“Including building a funeral for the family or community Akur Sunda Wiwitan,” said Franky.

Previously reported, the grave of the Sundanese Wiwitan traditional community of Karuhun Urang (AKUR) in Cisantana Village, Cigugur Sub-District, Kuningan District, West Java, was sealed by the local government on Monday (7/10/2020).

According to the Head of Satpol PP Kuningan Regency Indra Purwantoro the tomb building he called the monument did not have a permit.

It claims to have sent warning letters three times and as of Monday Akur Sunda Wiwitan was unable to show permission.

“This is in accordance with the Civil Service Police Unit SOP. We have delivered warning letters three times. “

“After the third warning letter, we have not been able to address the legality of licensing, our SOP is done sealing,” Indra said to Kompas.com when met at his office Monday afternoon (7/20/2020).

Indra said that he had invited Akur Sunda Wiwitan to apply for permission to the relevant department.

If seven days after the sealing could not show a permit, Indra said Satpol PP would give Akur Sunda Wiwitan 30 days to dismantle the building himself.

If 30 days are not immediately dismantled, the Satpol PP will demolish.

Indra said that the actions taken by the Satpol PP referred to Kuningan District Regulation Number 13 of 2019 regarding the implementation of the IMB, and also the organizational structure of the Satpol PP.
