Russia is almost completely in control of Luhansk
Reported from AFP, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Friday said Moscow was almost completely in control of the separatist Luhansk region.
“The liberation of the Luhansk People’s Republic is almost complete,” Shoigu said.
After some 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered at the besieged Azovstal steel mill in the city of Mariupol, Kyiv ordered its remaining troops hiding in Luhansk to lay down their weapons after nearly three months of resistance.
