Successful weekend for the Crocodiles Hamburg

Reading time: approx. 4 minutes

That was a successful weekend for the Crocodiles Hamburg in the Oberliga Nord. Won in Tilburg and then clearly put Halle in its place. With that they almost caught up with the Hanover Indians, but they seem to have learned from the historical bankruptcy of Herford and the win against Diez-Limburg brought the Hanoverians to 0.12 points to the Bulls.

The people of Herne suffered a setback. The last strong appearances from Erfurt won in the Hannibal Arena and approached the Leipzigers to within 0.01 points. The Rostock team won in Krefeld and overtook their direct rivals and are now 0.01 points ahead of KEV.

Icefighters Leipzig – Tilburg Trappers 3:5 (1:1, 2:0, 0:4)

A good forty minute performance against the Trappers is not enough. It must have been sixty minutes and because that wasn’t the case, the three points went to Tilburg. In fact, the Leipzig started very committed in the game, pushed the Tilburg into their half and forgot to score. Moritz Israel started early and scored 1-0 in the third minute. Then the shock. Giovanni Vogelaar (8th) equalized early, strengthening his team. In the second third, the Leipziger came really strong from the cabin. Michal Velecky (22nd) and Maximilian Spöttel (24th) quickly increased to 3: 1. It took the Dutch a full third to come back to themselves but started the last twenty minutes on a fast-track. Diego Hofland shortened to 2: 3 with the first attack and in the 46th minute Max Hermens equalized. Now the Icefighters were shocked and then even had to accept the 3: 4 in their own majority (de Bonth was in the penalty box). Raymond van der Schuit escaped the domestic defenders and brought the Trappers into the lead. With 87 seconds to go, the Leipzig team took their goalkeeper Patrick Glatzel off the ice and took Diego Hofland’s 3-5-3 with twelve seconds to go.

Crocodiles Hamburg – Saale Bulls Hall 6: 2 (1: 0, 3: 0, 2: 2)

In a balanced game, the Crocodiles were much more efficient than their Saxon-Anhalt guests. In the first third it was not so noticeable. Except for a stroke of genius by Harrison Reed, who was able to take advantage of a power play in the eighth minute of the game, the game was far from over. The disaster broke out in Halle when Victor Östling (25th), Patrick Saggau (26th) and Michal Bezouska (30th) increased to 4-0 in the second third. After that, Hamburg’s Tramm and Bölke each picked up a penalty in this phase of the game, statistically the Icefighters did not take place in this phase. When Martens picked up another penalty in the 41st minute, this seemed to be the signal for the Bulls, but the opposite happened. Maximilian Schaludek (42nd) scored 5-0, outnumbered. Then the Icefighters finally got going. Leon Fern scored to 1: 5 in the 46th minute and Valtteri Hotakainen, whose contract was extended during the week, to 2: 5 in the 49th minute. Then the encounter rippled (almost) to the end. In the 60th minute of the game Dominik Lascheit increased to the final score of 6: 2.

Hannover Indians – EG Diez-Limburg 7: 3 (2: 2, 2: 0, 3: 1)

A deserved success for the Hanoverians, who seem to have overcome the absolute low in Herford. After the three points from Halle, Diez-Limburg, which could only just be defeated 4: 3 in the first home game, was clearly defeated 7: 3. It was interesting that both teams started with their backups. For Louis Busch from Diez-Limburg, who was still under contract at the horse tower last season, and Lukas Schaffrath on the domestic side. He had to intervene more often in the first third than he liked and he had to get to know the accuracy of Thomas Matheson (2nd) and Konstantin Firsanov (14th). On the other hand, Parker Bowles (8th) and Igor Bacek (20th) scored two goals to equalize 2-2. Robby Hein (26th) scored early in the second third to make it 3-2, which Igor Bacek (39th) made 4-2. In the final third, Hanover’s best player, Igor Bacek, completed the feat of having scored his three goals of the day in three different periods. In the 47th minute he scored to make it 5-2. Then Thomas Pape (52nd) and Brett Bulmer (56th) came to a close, before Dominik Patocka (60th) marked the tenth and last goal of the game.

Krefelder EV U23 – Rostock Piranhas 4: 5 (0: 2, 3: 2, 1: 1)

A lucky but not undeserved victory for the people of the Baltic Sea who simply had the slightly better specialists on their side. Statistically noteworthy: Of the nine goals scored, only one fell if there was a tie, namely the first one that led to the 1-0 lead of the piranhas. The goal scorer was August von Ungern-Sternberg (5th). The same player also scored 5: 4 ten minutes before the end and gave his team three valuable points in the battle for the pre-play-offs. In between there were two shorthander goals in a row, scored by both teams. First Jayden Schubert (17th) met Rostock to make it 2: o, then Luca Hauf (23rd) shortened to 1: 2. Five overpaid gates followed. First Thomas Voronow (28th) and Lukas Koziol (31st) increased to 4: 1 for Rostock, then Adam Kiedewicz (37th, 38th) and Adrian Grygiel (49th) equalized. Afterwards, as already described, the Rostockers scored the victory goal, of course in excess.

Herner EV – Black Dragons Erfurt 3:4 (2:0, 0:3, 1:0, 0:1) n.V.

The Herner conceded an unexpected home defeat against the black dragons from Erfurt. It didn’t look like the end result after the first part of the game. Marcus Marsall (6th) and Denis Fominych (19th) gave HEV a 2-0 lead and everything seemed to be going its normal way. In the second third the Erfurt got serious. Maurice Keil (29th), Kyle Beach (31st, 37th) turned the result within nine minutes. In the third third, the Hernians needed a double outnumbered game, at least in time for Richard Mueller (54th) to equalize 3: 3 before the end of the game. Another power play was responsible for the decision. In extra time, Kyle Beach scored his third goal in the 63rd minute.
