I liked the fact that despite our personal issues we took the challenge and just played this game.

VfL trainer Bob Hanning: I gladly accept Filip’s praise. As long as we had enough strength, we showed a good game. Unfortunately, we didn’t reward ourselves for that in most halftime situations. We lost the goalkeeper duel by a long shot, but the quality at THW Kiel in the goalkeeper position and in attack is different. Too bad we can’t reward ourselves with a better result. I would have been a little happier with minus ten or minus eleven. But, and I also told my boys in the dressing room: there’s no reason to be happy with the result, but no reason to be sad now either. We will take a lot from today’s match in Kiel, which has been a lesson for my players in many ways.

THW rookie Yannick Fraatz: I have to admit that I was a little nervous at first. Being able to play for THW Kiel for the first time was something special.
