A house on Kennemerduinstraat in Noord was damaged by an explosion shortly before midnight. The impact also briefly caused a fire. It is the third explosion in the area in 24 hours.
According to witnesses, the explosive went off on a balcony on the second floor. Local residents fled into the streets because of the impact.
Several emergency services, including police, fire brigade and an ambulance, arrived on the scene. The fire brigade quickly extinguished the fire. The residents were checked on site by ambulance personnel. Police specialists have conducted an investigation.
So it is the third explosion in the area in 24 hours. Mayor Femke Halsema urgently had cameras installed after two explosions occurred a few hours apart on Wednesday in the nearby Westerduinenstraat. A local resident said at the time that the explosions did not give ‘a safe feeling’.
