Strict Inspections in Bahrain Detect Violations of Labor and Residence Laws

Manama: Inspections to detect expatriates who violate labor and residence laws continue to be strict in Bahrain. The Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and Capital Governorate Police Directorate jointly conducted the inspection in the Capital Governorate.

In addition to occupational violations, residential violations were also found during the inspection. A few people who broke the rules were caught. The arrested violators were handed over to the concerned departments for further action. The Labor Market Regulatory Authority has said that it will continue to conduct strict inspections in the country in collaboration with various government departments and is committed to taking strict action against violations. The authorities have also sought the public’s support in the measures taken by the government agencies to make the procedures in the country’s labor sector transparent and legal. More than 4000 kilos of seized drugs were melted down and destroyed

Manama: The Public Prosecution informed that a total of 4,800 kilograms of narcotics and intoxicating substances seized in Bahrain were destroyed. The narcotic substances seized as per various court orders were destroyed under the supervision of the special committee.

The destruction was led by a special committee appointed by the judge and the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. Other members of the Ministry include the Public Prosecution. The intoxicants were destroyed under the supervision of this committee. Adv. Muhammad Salih Al Musallam, chairman of the committee and head of the Penal Execution Prosecution Office, said that this panel visited the store where the drugs were stored yesterday morning and checked them. According to the norms prescribed by the law, these intoxicants were melted and destroyed in a large furnace at a temperature of 1,100 degrees Celsius.
