BRUSSELSNATO deployed fighter jets up to 10 times Monday to track and intercept a fleet of bombers and fighter jets Russia which flew over the North Sea, the Black Sea, and the Baltic Sea.

This is a “rare peak” of the presence of a large fleet of Russian fighter jets in several European regions at once in a day, according to a NATO official.

“NATO aircraft intercepted six different groups of Russian military aircraft near the alliance’s airspace in less than six hours,” said a NATO statement, reported by the Saudi Gazette.
