Stolen Christ back in Aarschot after twenty years: “Was for sale on auction site of religious works of art”

Now, twenty years later, the statue is back in Aarschot. “The image surfaced last year on a website where you can buy religious art,” says Mayor Gwendolyn Rutten (Open VLD). “The investigators of the Federal Police’s Special Art Robbery Department noticed the statue on the site and searched it. They eventually found the statue of Christ in Munich, Germany.”
