STOCK MARKET TICKER fireworks at Cineworld thanks to new loans

Frankfurt, Nov 23 (Reuters) – The following is the stock exchange ticker for important price movements on the international financial markets and their causes:

11:53 a.m. – Investors are relieved to respond to new credit lines for Cineworld. The shares of the world’s second largest cinema chain in London rise by almost 27 percent to 58.32 pence. The company has reportedly secured additional loans of $ 450 million. Since a corona vaccine is close at hand, Cineworld has enough funds to hold out until the cinemas reopen, comments analyst James Wheatcroft of the Jefferies investment bank.

11.45 a.m. – The US emergency approval for a drug for the treatment of corona patients inspires Regeneron. The shares of the pharmaceutical company rise in the pre-market US business by 5.6 percent.

11.06 a.m. – At the start of stricter pandemic restrictions in Turkey, investors parted ways with the country’s currency. In return, the dollar and the euro gain 1.5 percent each to 7.7442 and 9.1973 lira, respectively. In the past few weeks, in anticipation of a sharp rise in interest rates by the Turkish central bank, they had each devalued more than nine percent.

10:35 a.m. – AstraZeneca’s progress in developing a coronavirus vaccine doesn’t convince investors. The shares of the pharmaceutical company fall 1.5 percent in London. The downside is the lower effectiveness than the competition, says analyst Susannah Streeter from asset manager Hargreaves Lansdown. The question now is whether AstraZeneca can confirm the maximum effectiveness rate of 90 percent at certain dosages, said Neil Wilson, chief analyst of the online broker Markets.com. According to AstraZeneca, the effectiveness of their corona vaccine is 70 percent on average in two studies with different dosages.

7:57 a.m. – A negative analyst comment pushes BMW to the end of the Dax. The shares of the car manufacturer lose 1.1 percent to around 73.30 euros. The experts at Morgan Stanley have downgraded the title to “Equal-Weight” from “Overweight”, but raised the target price to 66 from 64 euros.

7.50 a.m. – The 5-2 victory over Herta BSC encourages investors to join Borussia Dortmund (BVB). The shares of the Bundesliga club will rise by 4.5 percent on Monday before the trading session. Since arch-rivals Bayern Munich only reached a draw against Werder Bremen, BVB moved up to one point on the league leaders in the Bundesliga. (Compiled by the Reuters market team.
