Thirty people may still be present at the ceremony of a marriage. The Ministry of Health and the safety regions decided on Tuesday after there was uncertainty about the number of allowed guests at a wedding. On Wednesday, the ministry expects to clarify the number of guests at the party after the wedding ceremony.
Monday’s press conference caused confusion among wedding venues, upcoming couples and wedding guests. It was stated that only four people were allowed to be present at a civil marriage.
However, the four-person measure would not apply to wedding services in churches, because there is no group limit for places of worship.
The South Holland South security region announced earlier on Tuesday that it had received “good news” from the ministry: up to thirty people were allowed to attend a civil wedding. According to the security region, they had to disappoint many couples on Tuesday because they were under the assumption that only four people were allowed to be present at the ceremony.
Maximum group size limited to prevent the spread of coronavirus
From Tuesday 6 pm apply tightened national measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. For example, people are allowed to gather outside in groups of up to 40 people. Inside, a group size of a maximum of thirty people applies. Exceptions to this are funerals, demonstrations, cultural institutions, zoos and companies.
In addition, it is recommended to receive only three more guests at home. A maximum of four people from different households may sit together outside the home.
