Stefanos Tsitsipas, The Greek tennis star is facing a big challenge: He is working intensively on finding ways to get top players like Novak Djokovic to beat and put yourself at the top of the world rankings.
At 25, Tsitsipas is no longer one of the youngest players on the tour and is feeling the pressureto realize his dreams as a Grand Slam champion and world number one.
Tsitsipas and the race against time
The clock is ticking for Tsitsipas.
The Greek player, currently ranked 6th in the world, has yet to win a Grand Slam title despite his talent and success. While tennis legends like Roger Federer have retired and Rafael Nadal is recovering from surgery, Djokovic continues to dominate the game.
At the same time, young talents like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune are attracting attention and are also striving for the biggest awards in tennis.
“We have a lot of great players on the tour at the moment who are playing excellent tennis.
This is probably the most challenging phase of my tennis career, finding ways to beat these guys and overtake them in the rankings,” Tsitsipas said in a podcast on The AO Show.
Tsitsipas’ hopes for the Australian Open
Tsitsipas recently reached his second Grand Slam final at the Australian Open.
Unfortunately, the tournament didn’t end the way he had hoped, as Djokovic beat him in straight sets to win his tenth title in Melbourne. Tsitsipas, who has a large Greek community behind him in Australia and sees the Australian Open as his “home Grand Slam”, hopes to beat Djokovic there.
“Maybe we can show our true potential, finally, once, that’s all I want. I hope we find a way there and start dominating our own zone,” Tsitsipas said.
He associates Australia with great fans and support and enjoys playing in the country’s cities.
As Tsitsipas continues to work towards his first Grand Slam title, his passion and commitment to the sport remains undiminished.
His goal of topping the tennis world rankings motivates him to constantly develop and develop new strategies against the top players.
