Uhldingen-Mühlhofen (dpa/lsw) – A collision with metal objects stopped the journey of a special steam train on Lake Constance. The police estimated the damage on Tuesday at up to 40,000 euros. None of the 74 passengers were injured. The “Bodensee-Express” was traveling from Schaffhausen to Lindau on Saturday when it hit the objects at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. They were on both tracks near Uhldingen-Mühlhofen (Bodenseekreis). It was initially unclear exactly what items they were and how they got there. After the accident was recorded, the special train run by a non-profit Swiss association was able to continue running. The police have launched an investigation into suspected dangerous interference with rail traffic.
