This coming weekend, from 5th to 7th August 2022, equestrian sports fans will once again get their money’s worth in Piber. This is where the state championships in carriage driving for Burgenland, Carinthia and Styria are held. In the disciplines of dressage, marathon and obstacle driving, humans and animals will compete for first place. Defending champion Kurt Gösler from Ligist will be at the start again this year – in the single horse class with his faithful stallion Heavy. However, the West Styrian does not see himself as a new title contender: “This year I’m not the favorite, I haven’t trained enough for that, I’m not well prepared,” says Gösler.
