Today Stanisław Aniołkowski won the race in Kazimierza Wielka and became the second Polish champion in a row driving in the development team of CCC.
The fact that he dreams of fighting to repeat last year’s success of Michał Paluta was assured in July, before the Dookoła Mazowsza race. His success is all the more valuable as it was achieved after a very interesting race. In the second part of the race, something was happening almost all the time, and then it was not known who would win until the very end. Kamil Małecki had a long breakaway in the last kilometers, caught by the peloton only at the very end.
In today’s race, we had everything we love cycling for. Besides, we raced in virtually all conditions. First we had rain, then the sun was shining. I think we gave the fans a show of great cycling at the highest level. That is why I am all the more happy that it was I who won
– Aniołkowski told us freshly after leaving the building where the anti-doping commission was located.
The competitor, who has been representing the colors of the CCC Development Team for two years, is perfectly fit for the most important event this year. Already two rounds before the end, the team doctor – Piotr Kosielski saw him, said “ooh, ‘Angel’ will be the champion”. It was clear to the naked eye that he is in good shape today.

I felt good from the very beginning. Only during the second round, when the pace was very strong and everything was breaking up in front, I thought to myself “if this is what it looks like until the end of the race, it can be really tough today”. But then a lot happened in the group, and I was always ahead
– admitted today’s winner.
However, being in good shape is one thing and using it is quite another. The latter requires luck, i.e. a favorable race arrangement. For “Angel”, the best scenario would be to finish in a larger group, but it was unlikely to happen.
The route was difficult – perhaps the most difficult in years, and even at the end of the competition of the previous age categories, smaller groups or even single competitors traveled. The chances that it would be different in the elite were not particularly high.
Before the race, I would not have bet a penny on such a scenario. While driving, the thought popped into my head that maybe many competitors will actually fight at the finish, but then Kamil Małecki appeared at the front, who last year raced with me in one team, and today he is already in World Tour and advises I really enjoy myself there

And yet even the well-disposed Małecki was not able to reach the finish line, which did not mean that the front was no longer orange.
2 kilometers before the finishing line it was obvious that his advantage was negligible, so we set up a train with all the riders from both CCC teams. The distributors did a great job, because thanks to them we started, together with Szymon Sajnok, to the finish from the best possible position. In the end, I turned out to be better, and I repaid him for last year’s fight for the victory in the eagles category
– said Aniołkowski, who dedicated his success to the sponsor of the group.
I am glad that I was able to repay our sponsor with this win for supporting us during this pandemic, and that although the company is in financial trouble, it still sponsors our team

However, everything indicates that his and CCC’s paths will soon diverge. Dariusz Miłek’s company is facing financial problems, and the businessman himself has already announced that CCC Team will withdraw from the worldtour peloton. It is still unknown what about the CCC Development Team. Fortunately, Aniołkowski can still be quite confident about his future.
Winning the title of the Polish champion is already quite an achievement. My previous results show that it was not accidental, even at last year’s European Championships I missed the medal really little, I think that I am making huge progress every year and I think that if I get the chance to compete in this highest cycling division, I will definitely use it and show what I can do
