The association for the voluntary blood donation of Saint-Sernin-du-Bois held its general assembly Thursday evening in the wedding hall of the town hall under the chairmanship of Maguy Chevalier in the presence of Pascale Fallourd, mayor of the town and Bernard Debarbouillé of Amicale du Creusot.
It should be remembered that the aim of the association is in particular to promote voluntary blood donation by recruiting new donors in connection with the collection sites and to facilitate blood collections by organizing and ensuring their smooth running. On this last point, we will learn that the association held a blood donation awareness session at the elementary school (CM2) of Saint-Sernin last June. Likewise, it organized three collections over the year 2021 for a total of 122 donations, i.e. around thirty additional donations compared to previous years. “9 new donors came forward for the collections…” said the president, who had previously underlined the difficulties encountered in 2020 (two collections) following the health crisis. “During the crisis, we refused people over 75 to help us voluntarily during the collections. As for the financial participation of the EFS, it has decreased… but we continue to have a meal at the end of the fundraising… ”.

Bernard Debarbouillé congratulated the Saint-Sernin association for its excellent work despite a complicated year, then he returned to the problem of small collections: “We have collections that are hanging by a thread, today we must have 40 to 50 donations to be sure to keep your collections … ”. Resolutely optimistic, the person in charge explained that the collections seemed to “start again” on the rise and that the setting up of collections by appointment gave satisfaction to the donors: “It’s more fluid! “. Pascale Fallourd for her part congratulated those in charge of the friendly who have adapted well to the health context and remain dynamic today. “You participate in the life of the town and the local businesses benefit from it …”.
The election of the bureau followed. Maguy Chevalier was re-elected as president of the association and Bernadette Rebourg becomes vice-president. The finances will be held by Denise André with Martine Gilbert her assistant. Françoise Geoffray and Martine Carrissimoux will take care of the secretariat.
