The Health Department in Hidalgo called on the population to save lives by donating convalescent plasma, because doing so can help transfer a significant load of antibodies developed by people who have been cured of covid-19.
Similarly, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) has highlighted that this blood element can help patients with critical illness.
People eligible to donate plasma are those who have been cured of the virus and the donation must be totally altruistic.

At the same time, it specifies that those who can donate are men and women between 18 and 65 years of age, if they are a woman, they are not pregnant, and they must be people without active disease with at least 4 weeks of the onset of the condition that takes approximately 28 days.
The requirements to donate voluntarily are: have a positive result of Covid-19 confirmed by the RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV- “, which must be repeated 28 days after the recovery of the person concerned and that the result is negative, in addition to not having received blood transfusions.
It is important to note that, so far, the infection that causes Covid-19 has no specific treatment, however, this protocol is performed in addition to the care provided to Covid patients.
Therefore, the population is invited to show solidarity with those infected by this virus and make a voluntary donation of plasma.
