UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE COURT – The Korean SsangYong pours in difficult conditions. In fact, abandoned by its previous shareholder, the Indian Mahindra, it was forced last December to present a petition to the court of Seoul to gain access to receivership. Proceedings necessary since the Korean house was unable to meet the debts. However, SsangYong does not give up and today announces that, thanks to an improved financial situation, it is able to present two new projects that should contribute to its “auto rescue“, waiting to find a new investor, which remains a priority.
THE ELECTRIC KORANDO – The first to arrive on the European market next October will be the Korando e-Motion (project E100, photo above), model already entered into production on Monday 14 June. This is the electric version of the Korando, with respect to which it has a slightly different look: the grille will in fact be “closed” and there will be blue moldings to underline its ecological nature.
A MUSCLE SUV – The other electric model that the Korean company is working on is known internally as the project code SsangYong J100. This is a medium-sized SUV that should go into production in 2022: from the first drawings (above) there is a decidedly muscular and off-road-inspired look.
