Splashy Incident Turns Off the Mic, Puan Maharani Reveals the Reason to Boy William

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com– For the first time presenter Boy William set foot on the building DPR/ MPR and met directly with the Chairman of the DPR RI Mrs. Maharani.

Boy visited Puan’s office and was escorted to several buildings that were used for meetings and the inauguration of the President.

On that occasion, Boy William questioned what had been busy on social media for Puan, namely the incident of turning off the microphone during the trial.

“Mom, Speaker of the DPR I have a question, that’s why yesterday the mic case suddenly died?” Boy asked Puan, quoted from YouTube Boy William, Thursday (12/11/2020).

Puan calmly explained the rules and systems that occur when the microphone on the table in the courtroom is used by court participants.

Indeed, all members of the DPR have the right to speak, and Puan and other leaders who sit at the front usually take turns to be the chairperson of the session, where when the incident occurred, the person in charge of presiding over the hearing was the person sitting to the right of Ms.

The congregation leader has the duty to keep the trial running properly and correctly.

The courtroom has a system where the member’s microphone is turned on, so those in front or other members will not be able to use it to speak.

“So if one person has been given the opportunity to speak, they should not speak again, but give the other opportunity to talk,” said Puan.

“And if on floor I’m talking again, above that I can’t speak, because it’s automatic, “said Puan while giving Boy an example of a microphone working system there.

As the members continued to speak, the chairman of the court did not have the opportunity to speak because the microphone was turned off.

“Incidentally, the technicalities that regulate can stop people talking ormute or not, only the one at the front desk is in the middle, “explained Puan.

“The chairperson asked me to (turn off the mic) so he could talk,” he continued.

Therefore, Puan denied that he did the incident which was then bustling on social media because it was intentional.

“I turned off the mic not on purpose, but to keep the proceedings running, so that it went well and smoothly, and because at that time I had actually been given the opportunity to talk but wanted to talk again, talk again,” said Puan Maharani explaining the microphone death incident.
