Special schools will also be closed from Monday, the Minister of Education announced

Most pupils and students have been learning from home since 14 October. The first grade of primary schools was to return to the benches on November 2. But ministers ruled it out a few days ago. Instead, it is time for another closure of facilities, which have so far had an exception.

“Minister of Education Robert Plaga will propose to the government the temporary closure of special schools from November 2. This proposal will also apply to one-year or two-year practical schools,” said Aneta Lednová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education. it will take Plaga, so it will suit him.

And so it happened. On Friday evening, Plaga announced on Twitter that the government had decided to close special schools from Monday. “Teaching at special schools will take place remotely from Monday. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will strive to return these schools to the full-time teaching regime as soon as the epidemiological situation allows,” he wrote.

It is not yet clear when the schools will reopen. The new Minister of Health, Jan Blatný (for YES), has set their reopening as one of the first things he wants to do after taking office. “You are right that we are one of the few countries that has closed schools and we need to find out (again on the basis of the data we have) whether it should remain so or whether it should change,” said Blatný.

Almost 180,000 people in the Czech Republic are now suffering from covid-19. According to the Ministry of Health, the course is moderate for most, there are now about 6,600 patients in hospitals.
