The guests were better after the break, but they only managed to reduce in the 76th minute thanks to the goal of Tomáš Čvančara. The Praguers are the only ones in the league season to remain without losing a point and to secure the lead in the table. Jablonec lost for the second time in the last three rounds.

“We completed the first partial task, six wins at the beginning of the league was our goal. But we have to admit that today’s one was the hardest, even though nothing indicated for a long time. We have to work significantly on the organization of the game during the national team break,” Václav Kotal, who celebrated his 68th birthday on Friday.

Sparta had persistent pressure for the first half hour, but without a proper ending. Perhaps only Hložek’s inaccurate shot from the 10th minute could scare the Jablonec goalkeeper a little.

Until then, the first big option had very passive guests. In the 20th minute, the ball from Pilar, who surprisingly started in the basic line-up, got to Ladr, but his sharp ground shot went off the bar.

It wasn’t until half an hour later that the locals took a big turn and struck. In the 30th minute in a confusing situation inside the penalty area, Hložek deftly returned the ball to Juliš and he scored the sixth league goal of the season. He thus secured the lead in the table of gunners.

“I am glad that Lukáš is able to confirm the self-confidence with which he goes to matches on the field. The average goal per match is an excellent business card,” praised Kotal, who had coached Jablonec in the past.

Four minutes later, the favorite added insurance. After a pass from the right side, the excellent young man Hložek prevailed and scored his fourth goal in the league season.

“I am disappointed, it is a pity of two mistakes in a short time sequence before the break. Until then, Sparta had no clear chance,” remarked the Jablonec coach Petr Rada.

In the second half, the Spartan onslaught from the end of the opening act did not continue. The guests were already more careful in guarding the main domestic supports and better capturing the quick events of Letenské.

In the 76th minute, Severočeši deservedly reduced when, after bouncing the balls in the penalty area, Čvančara’s substitution was the best. The 20-year-old forward scored the first goal in the sixth league game of his career.

Jablonec came to life significantly. Seven minutes before the end, Štěpánek had a balance in his head, but narrowly missed the goal. Two minutes before the end, Sparta was saved by two successful interventions by goalkeeper Heč – first after Pleštil’s action and then after Zelený’s blow. The people of Prague won the league for the eighth time in a row.

“After the break, the opponent went into greater risk. He added offensive players there and we could not react to it, even though we switched to a four-member defense. Jablonec had several very promising chances. The players could not cope on the defensive,” said Kotal.

“After the break we got up. In the end we had three big chances, especially Štěpánek had to hit his head between the poles. I don’t even remember when Sparta was under such pressure at home in the end. We lost, but I believe that if we continue in the next matches in the same spirit, then we are on the right track, “added Rada, who has trained at Sparta in the past.
