The Spanish Public Prosecution Service demands eight years in prison against Adrián HF for the killing of Dutch film editor Wouter van Luijn in 2018, the local newspaper reports. Last minute. Van Luijn died on the Spanish island of Mallorca at the age of 34 after being robbed and severely beaten overnight. He was there on vacation with his father. Free on bail
Adrián HF, then 19, was arrested by the Spanish police a day after the assault. He made varying statements. For example, he said that he had found the injured Van Luijn on the street and had taken it to hospital. He later confessed that he had beaten Van Luijn because the tourist urinated on the street.
The man was released on bail a year after the assault. Now the Public Prosecution Service is demanding eight years in prison.
Four other young people, who were suspected of involvement in Van Luijn’s death, have been arrested in 2020 acquitted by the youth judge in Mallorca. They had told the police that they had helped the injured Van Luijn into the car that had taken him to hospital. The four voluntarily participated in a DNA test to prove their innocence.
