the essential
At the end of class on Tuesday, a senior education consultant (CPE) from the Daniel Sorano college in Pins-Justaret was hit by a person who was coming to pick up a child.

A few days after the attack, the tension has subsided but the emotion remains around the Daniel Sorano college in Pins-Justaret, south of Toulouse. On Tuesday, around 5 pm, the bell rings as usual. The hundred students left school to go back to their homes. But the traditional classy exit very soon went wrong. A person who picks up a student on behalf of his parents has lost control. Impatient and visibly tired of waiting in front of the green gate of the public establishment, this man allegedly hit the principal school counselor under the astonished eyes of the students. “It is simply unacceptable and intolerable. The child under the care of this adult was very shocked by this gesture. We have therefore obviously reported this serious fact to our hierarchy and the victim has filed a complaint”, assures the principal of the college, Christophe Malavelle.

A police report has been filed. The shocked CPE nevertheless went back to work the next day. “Which does not detract from the seriousness of what happened, the principal is keen to underline. Since I took office, we have never had such a problem. All the more reason not to let it go. Christophe Malvelle points out that this member of the pedagogical team has ensured his supervisory function allowing to guarantee the safety of the pupils.

“Amazed and scandalized”

It was through a note slipped into her son’s diary that this mother learned the news. «You didn’t necessarily tell me about it, but I read that the CPE had been affected. I admit to being quite stunned and scandalized by the violence. It is especially worrying because it is usually calm here ”, this mother testified yesterday as she left the Pins-Justaret boarding school. “I find this unacceptable. You don’t hit the stick because you are unhappy. What an example for the children,” says another mother, indignant. Per her admission, her son didn’t necessarily mention it over dinner that night. “He told me that some were talking about it in the courtyard but nothing more,” she says. Pauline *, mother of a schoolboy does not take off. “This CPE is very attentive to children and a thoughtful person. How do we get there? I find it inconceivable. To physically attack someone who is doing their job, what a shame,” this mother glares. You would also like to give your full support to this staff member, the target of this attack.
