“South Korea, Malaysia, China and Japan reach semifinals of 2023 Sudirman Cup”

KOMPAS.com – Malaysia, South Korea, China and Japan have confirmed themselves to reach the semifinals of the 2023 Sudirman Cup. On the other hand, Indonesia was forced to be eliminated.

South Korea reached the semifinals of the 2023 Sudirman Cup after beating Taiwan with a score of 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

Korea opened the advantage through the mixed doubles of Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung. They won over Yang Po-Hsian/Hu Ling Fang.

Taiwan then leveled at 1-1 after Chou Tien Chen caught Lee Yun Gyu in two straight games via a score of 21-17, 21-16.

Furthermore, An Se Young (women’s singles) and Kim Won Ho/Na Sung Seung (men’s doubles) contributed points to bring Korea to the semifinals.

South Korea will face Malaysia in the semifinals of the 2023 Sudirman Cup which will take place on Saturday (20/5/2023).

Malaysia advanced to the semifinals after winning the match against Denmark with a score of 3-1.

Malaysia’s winning points over Denmark came thanks to the contributions of Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei (mixed doubles), Lee Zii Jia (men’s singles), and Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik (men’s doubles).

Meanwhile, the only Danish badminton player who won was Mia Blichfeldt. He defeated Goh Jin Wei (Malaysia).
