A 41-year-old gendarme was found dead in his home in Otopeni. Sources close to the investigation told Știrile PRO TV that he committed suicide out of jealousy, with his personal weapon.

Police officers from Otopeni went to the scene to carry out activities within their competence. The medical team arrived at the scene and declared the death of the respective man.
The deceased man is said to be a former prominent Romanian athlete, 41, who worked at the Bucharest Gendarmerie and performed for the Dinamo club, sources also told PRO TV News.
The coroner of the Ilfov Forensic Service was sued for carrying out activities within his competence.

The case will be taken over by the police officers of the Ilfov Criminal Investigation Service for the performance of the activities within their competence, establishing the exact factual and legal situation and adopting the necessary legal measures.
Furthermore, at the level of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie, internal checks on what happened were urgently arranged, the results of which will be made available to the competent bodies.
