1. Slafkovski’s difficult beginnings

A week ago, Juraj Slafkovský was looking forward to his first match with Montreal. The club praised him for his performance at the tournament of hopes and in the training matches between the Canadiens players. What happened this week? Slafkovský played two games where he was insignificant, but both were very specific.

The first against New Jersey was his Montreal debut at his home Bell Center, the largest arena in the NHL. It was also his debut as a conscript unit, all eyes of him were on him.

He wasn’t originally supposed to play in the second game in Toronto. He was informed at the last minute that he would replace struggling team-mate Jonathan Drouin and brought in team-mates Remo Pitlick and Joel Armio, who will be delighted to get a spot in the first team’s fourth formation.
