Sora – Serious mourning for the city and for medicine, Professor Gianni Gasbarrini Fortuna passed away


This morning he passed away at the hospital of Sora, SS. Trinity, Professor Gianni Gasbarrini Fortuna. He was 87 years old.

Surgeon, internist, gastroenterologist and geriatrician, he was a highly regarded professional. During his career he has represented a point of reference for many patients. Even in recent times they turned to him for advice. Such was his experience as a doctor.

He was a member and Past President of the Rotary Club Frosinone and Past District Governor of the Rotary District 2080 Lazio and Sardinia. Through Rotary he has been the promoter of many initiatives of great social value, always in favor of the most vulnerable.

Great sportsman, he was a very good skier, recognized teacher and national selector of ski instructors. He was a lover of the sea and sailing, passionate about the mountains, both for winter sports and for excursions to the highest peaks.

Enrolled in the register of journalists, he has published many articles on medicine, dedicated to the mountains, in-depth analysis on the activities of Rotary and on the history of which he was a passionate lover.

Last Thursday, due to a domestic accident, he was hospitalized at the civil hospital in Sora. Unfortunately, some complications that occurred later were fatal.

He leaves his wife Bianca Iafrate and two children, Daniela wife of Paolo and Alberto husband of Stefania, as well as three beautiful grandchildren to whom he was very attached. The body will remain exposed in the morgue of the same civil hospital SS. Trinity of Sora.
